Data Comparison Reports
This feature allows you to see the dereferences in data on a given report between two dates. This looks for and marked New, Change and Deleted rows of data. When Data comparisons are enabled on a Scheduled Report they run and return results along with the report you've scheduled.
This feature is available in two places, follow the instruction in the knowledge base.
Scheduled Reporting
A new tab has been added to scheduled reports allowing you to specify a previously run report to compare the current data.
Stand alone data comparison tool
You can compare two spreadsheets held outside of the platform without having to run through the scheduled report process. As above, this relies on two spreadsheets of exactly the same format - i.e. the same configuration of columns and rows, along with a unique identifier key.
Stand alone comparison tool can be found in platform> back office > reports > data comparison reports.
Recalculate benefit on package change
A new toggle has been added to benefit builder to trigger the benefit to recalculate on package change. When a user is moved from one benefit package to another and the benefit is also in the package they've moved to, their enrolment in this benefit will be scheduled to recalculate on the next overnight run.
Support for Google Analytics 4
Google Analytics code in tenant > configuration > system will generate code for the new Analytics 4 properties ahead of Universal Analytics being deprecated.
Any existing Universal Analytics configurations on Google Analytics will need immediate attention. The next-generation measurement solution, Google Analytics 4, is replacing Universal Analytics. On 1 July 2023, standard Universal Analytics properties will stop processing new data. Any tenants with the Universal Analytics code will continue until UA is closed won but you should prepare your Analytics to support G4 properties.
- Configure G4A property on Google Analytics
Google recommend that you follow the step-by-step guide to make the switch to Google Analytics 4 as soon as possible.
NOTE: Avantus are not able to provide direct support for 3rd party applications such as Analytics. Please refer to Google for guidance on how to configure Analytics. - Add the G4A tag to each tenant
Once you've set up the G4 property you should have a new G4A tag. Replace the UA tag on your tenant with this to start firing data into the new property.
See also Add a Google Analytics 4 property to a site that already has Analytics which indicates indicates Universal Analytics will also be populated for a period of time
Analytics Custom tags
When you enable Google Analytics you now have the option to All Custom Tags for Google Analytics which aims to send custom data on each page load to Google. When you set this option to Yes the code will include the following tags
- User System ID - the unique user identifier associated with all users
- Representing Admin System ID - if you're representing a user the admin's system ID is sent across
- Tenant - the subdomain of the current tenant
The above tags are included by default but if you wish to pass across further identifiers such as department or cost centre you can add your own by setting the tag name and valid expression for the value.
Note: Avantus do not provide technical support for the Analytics system itself, please refer to help articles provided by Google. One useful tool we have found is https://tagassistant.google.com/ to check tags are firing on the web page once set up.
Set Managers by Payroll Number in DTT
You can now map user's managers or approvers by Payroll Number in Data Transfer Templates. If the manager user is located by that payroll number they will be assigned to as the manager for the associated user you're uploading to.
Reply-to address on emails
You can now set the default reply-to address on system emails, email broadcasts and schedule emails. Unlike the base from address this does not need to be part of the platform domain registered with mailgun. When a user replies to an email sent via the system it will send to the address specified in reply to. You don't need to add reply-to address to all tenants and emails, if it doesn't exist it's not included in the email.
