We're pleased to announce two enhancements to the reporting and automation capabilities in MyWorkPal, available from version 2.30.12.


Report Triggers

Report Triggers are a powerful new way to automate scheduled actions across your workforce, building on the existing Data Triggers capability.


Where Data Triggers respond to changes in employee data, Report Triggers work differently — they run against a defined list of users from a distribution list report on a scheduled basis. This means you can drive automated actions based on who appears in a report at any given time, rather than waiting for a data change to occur.


You can schedule a report trigger to run daily, weekly, or monthly, and use it to:

  • Send emails to users, administrators, or both
  • Run an expression — for example, updating a metadata field or performing benefit-related operations
  • Request a lifestyle event for a user
  • Terminate a named benefit for users in the list
  • Recalculate benefit values for a named benefit

A typical example would be sending a birthday email each day to any user whose date of birth falls on today's date — simply build a report filtered to users with a birthday today, set it as a distribution list, and configure a report trigger to send the email daily.

Report Triggers are disabled by default. Please contact your Customer Success Manager to have the feature enabled on your tenant.

Merged Reports as Distribution Lists

You can now set a merged report as a distribution list, making it available for use in both scheduled emails and report triggers. Previously this was only possible with standard Report Builder reports.

To use a merged report as a distribution list, the first column must be "Tenants.Users SystemId" — this is required for the system to correctly identify the users in each row. Please ensure this is in place before setting the distribution list option to yes, as the feature will not operate correctly without it.

This change gives you greater flexibility when building complex user lists that draw from multiple data sources, and means those lists can now drive the same automated actions previously only available through standard reports.
